Job Summary: The Assistant Security Manager – Night Shift is responsible to ensure the smooth running of ISS night operations within the designated area of business; in such a manner as to ensure the continuous provision of a professional security service that meets the requirements of the relevant customer and adheres to the contractual scope of services
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage the smooth night security operations at Kakira Sugar Limited.
- Conduct frequent visible patrols with ISS Patrol Teams to limit the number of incidents.
- Attend daily / weekly / monthly customer meetings in absence of the KSL Security Manager.
- Submission of daily / weekly / monthly KSL specific and ISS reports.
- Attend to all customer complaints and implement measures to prevent a reoccurrence of the complaints.
- Ensure that all incidents are attended to immediately, reported correctly and make recommendations to mitigate the risks.
- Follow all the specific site policies and rules and regulations.
- Ensure that all patrol vehicles and patrol motorcycles are mobilized to their correct patrol areas.
- Ensure that the site compliment is trained adequately and schedule and implement retraining.
- Ensure that all the HSE requirements are implemented and that the site compliment perform their duties in a safe manner.
- Adopt a professional approach with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, with all internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure proactive risk management through effective risk assessment and the identification of potential risk exposures.
- Performance management which includes managing, leading and motivating subordinates to work effectively in order to achieve the goals they have been set.
- Manage and control all company assets.
- The Assistant Security Manager – Night Shift must peruse / check the Occurrence Book on a daily basis and sign it.
- Ensure security officers are posted on site according to the customer agreement.
- The Assistant Security Manager Night Shift must check the Supervisory Deployment Books.
- The Assistant Security Manager – Night Shift must ensure that the Site Inventory is used during any formal handing & taking over of shifts on all sites.
- The Assistant Security Manager – Night Shift must submit a report to the Security Manager detailing all activities / postings / incidents / deployment for the previous night.
- Ensure that pay queries are answered to and the correct payment to security officers.
- Ensure Site Instructions, emergency plans, registers and files are in place according to Customer and Company requirements.
- Ensure that all Security Officers are inducted and properly trained to meet the requirements of the position/ post.
- Ensure all Company assets are accounted for, properly handled, safeguarded and maintained.
- Manage the work schedules of direct reports to meet agreed plans, contracts and agreements in a cost-effective manner
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor degree from recognised university and or at least five years’ experience in managing large security operations.
- Computer Literacy – Windows, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Military or Police back ground will be an advantage.
