Job Summary:   To source, manage, grow and sustain a portfolio of Medium Enterprises; Large Businesses and Institutional customers within the Agro Business sector, building long term relationships based on efficient and reliable support for their businesses.

 

To plan, review monitor and direct the growth and quality of loans and deposits in line with the department targets and the existing Bank policies/procedures.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Drive the selling of banking products in order to grow liabilities, assets and revenues in accordance with established targets as an RM but also for the select branches that will be supported.
  • Research, create and follow up a target list for potential new business customers in the sector
  • Conduct effective relationship management through regular visits, timely feedback to customers and continuous anticipation of their needs with the aim to exceed their expectations.
  • Presenting loan proposals to the credit committees for decision making and giving feedback to applicants in line with the lending policy and procedures of the Bank.
  • Actively monitoring and evaluating performance of Agro Business loans in line with disbursement terms and conditions. Work closely with credit to initiate recovery actions for loans in default and written off loans in line with credit policy guidelines and procedures.
  • Resolving client queries and complaints to maintain quality service delivery standards.
  • Conduct monitoring visits, analyse the Agro business portfolio to identify adverse trends; identify and address weaknesses in a timely manner to minimize provisions and write offs.
  • Engage actively with the select group of Branches to identify and close Agro Business opportunities to operationalize the broader aspects of the Bank’s Strategic Business Plan.
  • Review Agro Business credit facility applications guided by the Bank’s credit analysis model, and in compliance with the requirements set out in the Bank’s Credit policies and procedures at every stage of the credit cycle.
  • Appraise opportunities for synergy and keep well-documented reports/visits/ contracts with all relationships, the bank’s management & other units.
  • Drive active utilization of Agricultural lines of credit and guarantee schemes to derisk the agricultural portfolio
  • Submit performance reports of the section to Manager Corporate and SME/Head Business & Institutional Banking with the appropriate content, format and frequency as may be required.
  • Prepare periodic reports to key stakeholders like funders and regulators to fulfil compliance requirements of Business and Institutional Banking with respect to Agro Business lending.
  • Take on all additional roles/responsibilities as may be advised by the Manager Corporate and SME or Head Business & Institutional Banking.

 

Financial Responsibility

  • Growth of the Agriculture asset book in the corporate & SME segment as per the bank budgets
  • Ensure asset quality of the agriculture lending book in the corporate & SME segment





Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • An Honours degree in business or related field from a recognized University.
  • Post-graduate qualifications / Professional Course in relevant discipline would be an added advantage.
  • At least five years of progressive experience with an established and demonstrable track record in the field of relationship management in a commercial bank
  • Broad knowledge and understanding of Laws and regulations relating to lending in Financial Institutions
