Job Summary: Watoto is seeking to recruit a Nurse to support with day-to-day clinical activities within Watoto Clinics.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide standard care to patients and perform daily nursing duties as allocated by the Supervisor, including but not limited to attending appointments and working with isolated patients.
- Ensure that clinical issues are promptly resolved, prioritising what is best for the health and well-being of the patients within the facility.
- Ensure that Infections are identified and contained early, and clear instructions given about pertinent infection control.
- Maintain up-to-date medical records and provide clinical updates regarding patients to the Supervisor.
- Participate in health programmes within and outside Watoto as and when a need arises.
- Educate patients and families about medical conditions and treatment plans
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant for the role should hold at least a Diploma in Nursing from a reputable institution.
- Must be a registered Nurse with the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council.
- At least two years’ experience in nursing in a school setting.
- Possess good inter-personal skills such as empathy and compassion when dealing with patients.
- Knowledge of basic computer software.
- Passionate about community health care with ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Commitment to working within standardized guidelines of Nursing care.
- Willing to work in any of the Watoto village clinics.
