About the Company:
PEAS is an international education not-for-profit organisation with the mission to ‘expand access to sustainably delivered, quality secondary education across Africa. Since 2008, PEAS has built and operated high quality low-cost not-for-profit secondary schools in close partnership with government in communities where there is urgent unmet demand for secondary education. We currently run 28 secondary schools in Uganda and 4 in Zambia serving over 15,000 students.
Job Summary: The Senior Human Resource Officer plays a central role in ensuring effective and efficient operational human resource management across PEAS Uganda’s school network. This includes planning, resourcing, and coordinating all HR functions while working closely with school leadership and staff. The role involves providing expert HR support, actionable insights, and guidance to help schools operate in alignment with organizational values and strategic goals.
Purpose
The primary purpose of this role is to collaborate with the School Network team to provide professional HR support and expertise to school leaders and staff. The Senior Human Resource Officer will drive improvements in HR processes, policies, and practices, fostering operational excellence across PEAS Uganda’s school network.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
HR Planning and Resourcing:
- Develop and implement HR strategies that align with the needs of the school network and organizational goals.
- Support workforce planning, including recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies for schools. Outplacement services
HR Support and Guidance:
- Provide expert advice to school leaders and staff on HR matters, including labor laws, policies, and best practices.
- Serve as a key point of contact for resolving HR-related issues and facilitating decision-making processes.
Policy Implementation and Compliance:
- Ensure HR policies and procedures are consistently applied and adhered to across the school network.
- Promote compliance with local labor laws and organizational standards.
Staff Development and Well-being:
- Support training and development initiatives to enhance staff capacity and performance.
- Foster a positive work environment that prioritizes staff well-being and engagement.
HR Operational Excellence:
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance HR efficiency across the school network.
- Monitor and evaluate HR activities to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
