Job Summary: Watoto Christian International School is seeking to recruit a Nurse to support with day-to-day clinical activities within Watoto Christian International School.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide immediate care for injuries and illnesses that occur during school hours.
- Administer medications to students as prescribed by their healthcare providers and maintain accurate records.
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies, providing necessary care and coordinating with the parents, school administration and emergency services when needed.
- Maintain up-to-date health records for all students, including documentation of treatments and medications administered.
- Educate students and staff on basic health practices, including hygiene and disease prevention.
- Work with teachers, counsellors, and other staff to support student health and well-being.
- Ensure compliance with government health regulations and school policies.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience.
- The applicant for the role should hold at least a Diploma in Nursing from a reputable institution.
- Must be a registered Nurse with the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council.
- At least two years’ experience in nursing in a school setting.
- Have a valid/ current up-to-date practising license.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to relate well to children, parents and guardians.
- Knowledge of basic computer software.
- Passionate about community health care with the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Have excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Commitment to working within standardized guidelines of Nursing care.
