Job Summary:  The role will be responsible for driving the sales strategy and achieving high productivity. The role involves overseeing a sales team, developing new business opportunities, managing client relationships, and achieving the set revenue targets. The individual in this role must possess strong leadership skills, deep knowledge of banking products, and the ability to foster a high-performance culture within the sales team.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:   

Sales Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and implement a robust sales strategy for banking products
  • Identify market opportunities and create sales plans to target specific customer segments.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activity to refine the sales approach.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a high-performing sales team to meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Conduct regular training sessions and workshops to enhance the team’s product knowledge and sales techniques.
  • Set individual and team performance goals, monitor progress, and provide feedback.

Client Acquisition & Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with schemes, high-net-worth clients, businesses, and key accounts.
  • Work closely with clients to understand their banking needs and offer customized solutions.
  • Develop new business relationships by actively sourcing prospects and converting them into long-term clients.

Sales Operations & Reporting:

  • Oversee the daily sales operations, ensuring smooth execution of sales activities and transactions.
  • Prepare and present weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales reports, tracking key metrics such as conversion rates, revenue generation, and client acquisition.
  • Identify opportunities for improving sales processes and streamlining workflows.

Collaboration & Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Collaborate with marketing teams to design campaigns that support sales objectives and attract potential clients.
  • Partner with other departments, such as operations and credit risk, to ensure that client requirements are met promptly and efficiently.
  • Liaise with product teams to keep up-to-date with new product offerings and service features.

Sales Performance Monitoring

  • Use data analytics to track sales performance, identify trends, and forecast future sales.
  • Ensure that the team is consistently meeting productivity benchmarks, such as, deal closure rates, and average deal size.
  • Manage performance councils, coffee sessions and other performance initiatives.

Compliance & Regulatory Adherence

  • Ensure all sales activities adhere to the bank’s regulatory and compliance standards.
  • Stay updated with industry regulations and financial laws to ensure risk mitigation in sales processes.

 



Qualifications, Skills and Experience:  

Minimum Education Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, or a related field. A master’s degree or professional certifications in banking or sales is a plus

Work Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in sales, with at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership role, preferably in the banking or financial services sector.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.

Required Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):

  • Strong knowledge of banking products, services, and industry trends.
  • Excellent leadership, coaching, and mentoring abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with CRM software.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Highly motivated and results driven.
  • Ability to build and maintain long-term relationships with clients.
  • Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong decision-making ability and attention to detail.
