Next Media is the leading multimedia company in Uganda aspiring to become the most relevant media in Africa. Next Media has evolved from one television station to three television stations, web products, an online news portal, a radio station, and a media production agency.

 

Job Summary:   We are looking for a strategic and charismatic Head of Sales to lead our sales team and develop and execute sales strategies that drive revenue growth and expansion. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of sales leadership, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to motivate and inspire sales teams to achieve exceptional results.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Innovate commercial strategies to give Salam Television competitive advantage of top-of-mind positioning with advertisers and spenders.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders
  • Expand ways to monetize our content across Next Media platforms.
  • Steer the Sales Teams of Salam Television in a direction that will give Salam Television growth in Sales revenue.
  • Grow the revenue stream of Salam Television; push the sales team to achieve an incremental target of at least 50% of their total sales revenues by set monthly Key Performance Indicators.
  • Regularly update the management team and the General Manager of Salam Television about latest business prospects within the Salam Television market diversity.
  • Ensure that your supervisors receive weekly performance reports to track the progress of targets on your portfolio.
  • Proactively work with clients to ensure continuous value addition to them from Salam Television and Next Media Services.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Client Relations, to align sales strategies with business objectives
  • Always ensure to perform excellently any other duties as may be assigned by your supervisor in line with your position.




Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or any related field.
  • 3 years of sales leadership experience, with a proven track record of driving revenue growth and leading high-performing sales teams
  • Ability to successfully navigate in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
  • Familiarity with the industry, market trends, and competitor landscape.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Ability to motivate and inspire sales teams to achieve exceptional results
  • Results-driven and goal-oriented, with a strong sense of urgency and accountability.
  • Collaborative and team-oriented, with excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
