Job Summary:  To support the collection, analysis and dissemination of data to inform strategic decision-making across the company’s media platforms.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the collection and analysis of data on digital metrics, print and broadcast performance, brand equity, and customer engagement to help identify knowledge gaps and refine research priorities.
  • Assist in planning and designing research methodologies to identify trends across media channels, contributing to the organization’s digital-first strategies.
  • Collaborate with editorial, marketing, and commercial teams to help prioritize and execute research topics that enhance growth and operational efficiency.
  • Conduct market research under the guidance of the Research Specialist to identify consumer needs and assist in creating accessible reports and dashboards that translate data into actionable insights
  • Regularly monitor competitor activities and update product profiles while supporting the tracking of key performance indicators (KPIs) across NMG’s media channels.
  • Assist in gathering and reporting weekly competitor data, using forecasting techniques to predict print and digital trends, and provide insights that support strategic positioning.
  • Report on broadcast, print and digital sales, readership, viewership, listenership, and circulation performance, assisting in identifying opportunities for market expansion and revenue growth.
  • Analyse customer feedback and competitor data to develop actionable insights that enhance customer satisfaction and retention strategies.
  • Contribute to the preparation of data-driven presentations to ensure accuracy and support decision-making on audience development, market share, and revenue goals.
  • Assist in the implementation and optimization of digital and automated data collection systems to improve operational efficiency.
  • Support the development and maintenance of analytics frameworks, utilizing digital analytics tools to ensure comprehensive first-party data collection.
  • Help track innovation metrics, research effectiveness, and new product development outcomes to measure and improve research and development efforts.
  • Provide support to data collection teams to ensure quality and consistency in research output, while assisting in evaluating the effectiveness of marketing and communications programs.





Qualifications, Skills and Experience:  

  • Academic: Bachelor’s degree in business Statistics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in data analysis, market research, or a similar role.
  • Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau), and statistical software (e.g., SPSS)
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.

Core Competencies

  • Proficiency in business intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau), statistical software (R, Python, SPSS), and digital analytics platforms with expertise in process automation and technology implementation.
  • Knowledge in quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, statistical analysis, and predictive analytics with proven ability to deliver actionable insights.
  • Excellence in data storytelling, executive presentations, and cross-functional team leadership, including ability to manage multiple research initiatives.
