Kiira Motors Corporation or KMC is a State Enterprise in Uganda established to champion the Development of the Domestic Automotive Value Chain for job and wealth creation.

 

Job Summary: The Corporate Affairs Manager is responsible for managing Kiira Motors Corporation’s public image and brand identity through strategic communication, media relations, corporate outreach, and stakeholder management. This role focuses on positioning KMC as an industry leader, ensuring alignment with corporate goals, and maintaining a strong, positive presence in the community and beyond.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Communications Leadership: Develop and oversee the execution of corporate communication strategies that support Kiira Motors Corporation’s mission, vision, and strategic objectives. Ensure alignment of internal and external messaging across all channels and platforms.
  • Brand and Reputation Management: Lead initiatives to strengthen and protect KMC’s brand identity and reputation in both local and international markets. Design comprehensive branding campaigns and monitor public perception to ensure the company remains a respected and trusted entity.
  • Media Relations and Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate and manage relationships with key stakeholders, including media outlets, government bodies, industry partners, and community leaders. Ensure that KMC’s communication strategies reflect a proactive approach to stakeholder engagement and support the Corporation’s business goals.
  • Crisis Communication and Risk Management: Develop and implement crisis communication plans to mitigate reputational risks and ensure timely and consistent responses to crises. Guide leadership in handling sensitive issues with transparency and accountability.
  • Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Sustainability: Lead CSR initiatives that demonstrate KMC’s commitment to sustainability, ethical business practices, and community support. Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to design and execute programs that enhance the company’s social impact.
  • Government and Regulatory Relations: Monitor and manage KMC’s relationship with regulatory authorities and government institutions. Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and advocate for policies that support the growth of the automotive sector.
  • Performance Tracking and Reporting: Establish metrics for evaluating the effectiveness of communication strategies, brand initiatives, and stakeholder engagements. Regularly assess performance and provide insights to senior management for continuous improvement. Develop and submit monthly work plans and performance reports, detailing progress and key performance indicators for assigned duties.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform any other duties assigned by the immediate manager.

Education Background

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Honors) in Public Relations

  • Related Field from a recognized Institution

Experience

  • General working experience of 5 years in PR and should have served for atleast 3 years in a senior or management role in a reputable organisation

Skills

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and media relations abilities
  • Proven ability to manage stakeholder relationships and influence key decision-makers
  • Proficiency in digital communication tools and platforms

Preferred Skills

  • Strong leadership and managerial skills with the ability to influence and collaborate with senior management and external partners
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging diverse audiences and stakeholders
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to align communication initiatives with business goals and organizational priorities
  • Proficient in crisis management and adept at handling high-pressure situations with sound judgment
  • Commitment to ethical practices, integrity, and building trust with internal and external stakeholders
  • Knowledge of brands and branding management
