Job Title: Boiler Overseer

About Organisation:
Kakira Sugar Limited (KSL) is a leading sugar manufacturer in Uganda. KSL boasts of two sugar estates, one in Kakira – Jinja and the other in Kayunga.
Job Summary: To oversee all boiler related operations and coordinate work of subordinates in the boiler house with the aim of achieving maximum steam generation for efficient operations of prime movers in the factory.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee routine and emergency boiler operation activities in the boiler area.
- Ensure that the boiler equipment is in good working condition
- Ensure that there is sufficient quantity and quality of feeder water.
- Continuously oversee the work of subordinates and ensure that their tasks are accomplished.
- Ensure that the working environment and maintain good housekeeping.
- Ensure safety, health and environment policy of the company.
- Assist the Boiler Supervisor to carry out off crop overhauling activities.
- Perform any other duties as maybe assigned by the Boiler Supervisor/Management from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Education:
- A First grade Trade Test Certificate in boiler operations. A master crafts certificate is an added advantage.
Experience, Skills and Competences:
- A minimum of two (2) years working experience in related field.
- Knowledge in fire hazard management and control skills, good knowledge of machinery functioning principles and procedures, good communication and interpersonal skills.
