About US:

The Petroleum Authority of Uganda (PAU) is a statutory body established under Section 9 of the Petroleum (Exploration, Development and Production Act 2013, and in line with the National Oil and Gas Policy for Uganda which was approved in 2008. The PAU’s mandate is to monitor and regulate the exploration, development and production, together with the refining, gas conversion, transportation and storage of petroleum in Uganda. This includes ensuring that petroleum operations in Uganda are carried out in accordance with the relevant laws, regulations, guidelines, statutes and in line with international best practice for the petroleum industry.

Job Summary:   To provide safe and reliable transportation to staff and timely distribution of official correspondence and parcels of the Petroleum Authority of Uganda.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensure that the assigned vehicle is in perfect mechanical condition before transporting the staff through regular checking of the vehicle.

• Diagnose mechanical malfunctions in the assigned vehicle and report to the supervisor with a suggestion of appropriate action to be taken
• Keep a clean record of fuel issued / consumed and journeys made in the logbook to simplify the accountability of fuel used.
• Ensure that routine service is done on time by monitoring the service mileage of the vehicle regularly.
• Keep a tracker to ensure validity of both third-party and comprehensive insurances so that they are renewed when necessary.
• Undertake any other assignments as may be directed from time to time.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• Advanced Level Certificate or its Equivalent
• Valid driving license, with Class “B.”
• Defensive driving Certificate.

Added advantage:

Required experience:

• Three (3) years of work experience driving in a Corporate or Government institution.

Skills and Competencies

• High level of integrity.
• Communication skills.
• Interpersonal skills.
• Time Management skills
