About the Company:
The Mukwano Group of Companies is the leading manufacturer of Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) in the Great Lakes region, producing a wide range of market leader brands in soaps, edible cooking oils and fats, detergents, beverages, personal care products and plastics.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise the receipt, storage, and inventory of raw materials.
- Verify raw materials against BOM and ensure accurate quantities are prepared for mixing.
- Monitor and record batch details for traceability.
- Oversee the mixing process to ensure adherence to specifications and quality standards.
- Ensure proper blending of raw materials, additives, and pigments to meet production requirements and
- Conduct visual and physical checks to ensure uniformity and quality of the mixed materials.
- Coordinate with the machine operators to ensure timely transfer of mixed materials to production lines.
- Enforce safety measures and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) during all operations.
- Maintain accurate records of raw material usage, batches, and wastage.
- Prepare daily and periodic reports on mixing operations, inventory levels, and team performance.
- Collaborate with other departments to implement process improvements
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; a degree or certification in materials management, engineering, or a related field is a plus.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in raw material mixing or similar roles, preferably in the plastics industry.
Skills & Professional Attributes Required:
- Familiarity with plastic materials, masterbatches, pigments, and additives.
- Understanding of mixing equipment and machine feeding processes.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team coordination abilities.
- Ability to follow BOMs and quality specifications meticulously.
- Capable of troubleshooting material or process issues effectively.
