Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- The primary purpose of investor relations is to provide external/prospective investors with insights about the company as a potential investment, and nurture relationships with existing Investors (shareholders) by providing access to financial and other strategic information about the company that can help them make appropriate decisions around existing and potential investments.
- To perform complex financial analysis, including financial / non-financial information, report on the outcomes thereof accurately, articulately and in a succinct manner and to shape & drive the group’s strategic narrative with investors, rating agencies and the broader investment community, in order to provide an accurate portrayal of the SBG’s performance & prospects in line with internal protocols & external regulatory requirements & develop effective relationships with all key stakeholders.
- To participate in strategic planning, and project management and cooperating closely with internal and external stakeholders to help implement the key strategic goals.
- Analyse and understand the company’s operations and trading performance, financial results, reporting and sustainability initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with teams across the organisation in the preparation and consolidation of annual and half year earnings releases, annual report preparation, as well as other investor-related materials linked to the company’s strategic narrative and investment case.
- Developing strategies to attract and maintain investors and, nurture key investor community relationships e.g. analysts, rating agency, fund managers, regulators, financial media, and other related stakeholder relationships
- Coordinating the strategy formulation process as well as functional plans to deliver the company’s strategy.
- Coordinating the macro and industry assessment process as an input into the strategy formulation, modification, and review processes.
- Maintaining the company’s annual rolling strategic plan updates as an input into the annual planning processes (Budgets & forecasts)
- Identifying, assessing, and preparing updates on the potential risks/threats posed to the company strategies.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Type Of Qualification : A degree in Business commerce, finance, accounting, generic management, Corporate Communications. Post Graduate Degree is ideal.
- Field of Study: Finance and Accounting
- Experience Required:
- Investor Relations
- Finance & Value Management: 3-4 years. Minimum 3 years of experience requiring strong project management, co-ordination capabilities and/or strong networking/ communication capabilities to effectively co-ordinate people from junior to executive level.
- Experience and a good understanding of financial analysis.
- A good understanding of the local listing requirements, particularly an understanding of how listed companies are required to interact with their stakeholders. Good understanding of the asset management and stock broking industries.
- Communication and presentation skills to senior level audiences.
- Minimum of 5 years post qualification experience in business/ business finance (planning & reporting) preferably in a bank or in a busy commercial environment.
- Experience in business development or advisory at executive level
- More than 5 years
