Job Summary:   The Stores officer is responsible for overseeing the daily operations inventory and warehouse, ensuring efficient stock management, accurate record-keeping, and timely distribution. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining optimal stock levels and security.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate inventory records, conduct regular stock counts, and ensure proper storage conditions to prevent damage or loss.
  • Coordinate the receipt and dispatch of goods, verifying shipments against orders, and ensuring timely distribution to meet business and client demands.
  • Monitor stock levels to ensure adequate supply, manage reorder points, and collaborate with procurement to prevent stockouts or overstocking.
  • Ensure all inventory transactions are accurately documented, and provide regular reports on stock status, discrepancies, and inventory turnover.
  • Enforce safety and quality standards in storage areas, including temperature control and handling of sensitive healthcare items.
  • Supervise and train store staff to promote adherence to company procedures and efficient warehouse operations.

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably within healthcare or pharmaceuticals.

Specific Skills:

  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in inventory management systems and MS Office.
  • Attention to detail, reliability, and integrity.
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks.
  • Strong understanding of inventory control and warehousing principles.
