Job Summary:   GIZ Uganda is recruiting a Finance Manager to support in the implementation of its programme.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

The Finance Manager will be responsible for:

Specific Tasks

The Finance Manager performs the following tasks:

  • Financial management and controlling
  • Oversight and quality assurance (oversight, controls, and compliance) of financial and administration processes of the projects
  • Contract Management
  • Other Duties/Additional Tasks
  • Perform other duties and tasks at the request of management.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance Management. A masters degree in a related field is an added advantage.
  • A professional certification in Finance e.g., ACCA or CPA is an added advantage

Details of experience:

  • 5 years professional experience in project accounting and/or finance management preferably within GIZ Uganda.
  • Proficiency in independently performing and complying with GIZ O&R and country internal procedures for all project related tasks in procurement, operations, and accounting.
  • Experience in project Proficiency in the accounting procedures required for project management.
  • Proficiency in relevant IT tools (SAP, Cost Control/Onsite reporting, MS-Office applications).
  • Proficiency to develop and handle tables and databases in excel for various monitoring purposes

Knowledge, skills and competences:

  • A proven team player with good communication skills and interest in handling diverse tasks in a small team.
  • Proactive in finding solutions and taking responsibility, interest in actively developing Junior Administrative and support staff
