About the Company:
The Mukwano Group of Companies is the leading manufacturer of Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) in the Great Lakes region, producing a wide range of market leader brands in soaps, edible cooking oils and fats, detergents, beverages, personal care products and plastics.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform regular checks on the vehicles following guidelines issued by the Fleet Maintenance Supervisor.
- Drive Medium Geared Vehicles to deliver raw materials and goods to specified destinations.
- Arrange for cleaning the vehicle as per approved cleaning schedule.
- Reporting mechanical faults to the Fleet Supervisor.
- On a daily basis update the Fleet Supervisor while in transit.
- Responsible for accuracy during loading, security of goods in transit and accurate delivery of Goods.
- Supervise the turn man with regard to vehicle maintenance, loading, transit and delivery of goods.
- Conform to environmental management system requirements.
- Any other duties assigned by the Fleet Supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Uganda Certificate of Education.
- Valid driving permit with Classes B, C and C1 the relevant class.
- Possession of a Certificate in Defensive Driving will be an added advantage
- At least five (5) years’ experiences in driving (1) one of which must be under driving Class C in a company.
- A Clean Driving Record.
Skills & Professional Attributes Required
- Ability to work independently in carrying out assignments to completion.
- Effective Verbal and written communication. Customer service orientation skills.
- Considerable ability to adhere to prescribed routines and practices; and compose effective and accurate correspondence.
- Dealing with non-routine matters, such as special projects, with minimum specific instructions.
- Decision making skills is required.
