Uganda Electricity Transmission Company Limited (UETCL) is a Public Limited Company wholly owned by the Government of the Republic of Uganda, and holds the following operational licenses. System Operator, Operation of the High Voltage Transmission Grid, Bulk Power Supply, Import and Export of Power and; Public Infrastructure Provider (for ownership and operation of the Optic Fibre). Job Summary: To Maintain the security records in UETCL, conduct investigations of any incidents, arrest and cause the culprit to be prosecuted in courts of law in line with company objectives.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide support to the Investigations Officer while carrying out criminal, disciplinary, traffic and any incidents prejudicial to the company.
- Prepare reports of all incidents registered and duly investigated.
- Receive, and deliver all mails and other documents to and from Security section of UETCL.
- Maintain an up to date section’s Station Diary and other record books and present them for inspection to the Head of section every close of business daily.
- Maintain the section’s daily transport loggings and fuel requisitions for use on official assignments.
- Monitor and register all delivered and issued materials and other items to and from the company stores.
- Monitor access control processes at all installations with the contracted private security service providers
- Register all traffic accidents involving the company’s fleet of vehicles and any other work-related accidents.
- Make all the section’s materials and stationary requisitions from the stores.
- Compile and submit reports on the daily motor vehicle parking regulations
- Compile and submit daily security status reports.
- Sermon witnesses to court as and when required to give evidence in case of UETCL’s interest.
- CCTV Monitoring: Monitor and analyze surveillance footage to identify and document incidents of vandalism and other security concerns.
- Incident Reporting: Create detailed reports of findings, and activity descriptions, to assist in investigations.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with security personnel and law enforcement to provide critical information and support ongoing investigations.
- Data Management: Maintain accurate records of incidents and analyze trends using computer software to enhance reporting and prevention strategies.
- Field Support: Participate in on-site investigations, security operations, gathering evidence and conducting interviews as necessary.
- Conduct Inspection/ spot checks at all installations and supervision of Contracted private security service providers.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Candidates should be computer literate, possess strong analytical and investigative skills, and demonstrate attention to detail, alongside a solid understanding of security protocols, crime management and CCTV systems.
Education:
- Diploma in Law, ICT, Accounting, Engineering, Records and Archives or a Security Studies related discipline.
Experience:
- Five (5) years working experience with the Police or any Law Enforcement Agency with specific bias in criminal investigations and Intelligence.
- Computer literate with good IT/computer science/Cyber security investigation skills
- Demonstrate good interpersonal communication skills
- Highly motivated, innovative, responsible, able to operate in difficult field conditions and a result oriented.
- A person of integrity, proactive and committed team player
- Competent at driving motor vehicles with a valid driving permit.
