Southgate Industries is a leading fruit processing company, located in Kampala Industrial & Business Park (KIBP Namanve). We process pineapples, mangoes, and bananas into puree, concentrate, and other value-added products.
Job Summary: The Weighbridge Controller is responsible for the accurate weighing of raw materials and finished products, ensuring that data is recorded correctly for inventory and financial reporting. This role involves working closely with the logistics and production teams to maintain accurate weight records.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: The Weighbridge Controller is responsible for:
- Weighing and Data Entry
- Inventory Control Support
- Compliance and Reporting
Duty/Responsibility
- Accurately weigh all raw materials entering the factory and finished products leaving the factory.
- Ensure all weight records are documented accurately and entered into the company’s ERP system.
- Provide weight data to the Management Accountant for use in inventory valuation and cost control.
- Verify the weight of goods being transported to and from the facility to prevent discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and legal standards at the weighbridge.
- Prepare daily and weekly weight reports for management review.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Minimum of 1-2 years in similar position in a busy commercial organisation
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelors in Procurement and Logistics or equivalent.
- MS Office Proficiency (Excel and word).
- Basic reporting skills.

- Attention to detail and precision and ability to think laterally.
- Self-driven problem solver and ability to handle extreme work pressure
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Team player with excellent influencing and organizational skills.
- High level of integrity
