Southgate Industries is a leading fruit processing company, located in Kampala Industrial & Business Park (KIBP Namanve). We process pineapples, mangoes, and bananas into puree, concentrate, and other value-added products.

 

Job Summary: The Warehouse Supervisor will oversee the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of raw materials and finished goods. The role includes managing warehouse staff, ensuring inventory accuracy, and maintaining a safe working environment.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:   The warehouse supervisor oversees

  • Warehouse Operations
  • Inventory Management
  • Health and Safety

Duty/Responsibility

  • Supervise the receipt, storage, and distribution of raw materials and finished products, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels and minimize stock discrepancies.
  • Ensure accurate stock records and conduct regular physical inventory checks.
  • Use warehouse management systems to track inventory and ensure FIFO (First-In, First-Out) practices.
  • Ensure warehouse staff comply with health and safety regulations, and that all safety procedures are followed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment.
  • Supervise and train warehouse staff to ensure smooth warehouse operations.
  • Assign tasks, monitor performance, and conduct regular performance reviews.





Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Three (3) years of experience in warehouse management, preferably in the food/beverage industry.

Educational Requirements:

  • Degree in Procurement or Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field.

Additional skills: In addition to the experience and educational requirements listed above

  • Strong organizational and inventory management skills.
  • Ability to manage a team and coordinate logistics.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of safety standards in warehousing.
