Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Project Implementation and sustainability
- Provide advice on animal production practices aimed at improving production and productivity
- Develop annual project activity plans oversee implementation to high standards by scope and timelines
- Train participants on key project models and approaches; Saving for Transformation (S4T), Transition, Gender Action Learning Systems (GALS), Local Capacities for Peace (LCP).
- Promote the use of modern farming practice and techniques through training, advising farmers, farm visits and demonstrations so as to transform targeted families from subsistence to commercial farmers in line with GoU policy.
- Facilitate established block gardens and demonstration plots to act as learning and multiplication sites for farmer groups
- Identify technical capacity and challenges of participants’ skills and knowledge on S4T and income generation activities, and plan & implement appropriate trainings.
- Facilitate establishment of saving groups among participants.
- Track progress of saving groups, keep records and provide guidance and advice on running the saving groups.
- Link group groups with other skill training such as literacy, financial literacy, life skills.
- Link saving group members to economic development and income generating activities.
- Promote empowered world View approach to enhance positive behavior and mindset change among participants.
- Ensure integration of project with other ongoing Livelihood activities including that of World Vision and government.
- Organizing weekly field planning meetings with community-based facilitators to guide effective implementation.
Community engagement and advocacy
- Develop farmer’s capacity to improve animal production and productivity to desired market quality
- Mobilize and facilitate the engagements of stakeholders during planning meetings, implementation and monitoring.
- Developing business plans for income generating activities (IGA) businesses and provide mentorship and coaching for various business groups for sustainable livelihoods.
- Facilitate and link participants to economic development and income generating activities.
- Ensure there is balanced gender representation amongst participants and leaders.
- Link farmer groups to government and other partners to access additional social services
- Assist in solving any conflicts within group members.
Stakeholders Engagement, Networking and Collaboration
- Participate in field level activities and represent World Vision in Settlement level livelihood working group meetings
- Facilitate the engagements of stakeholders during planning and development meetings, workshops and other fora.
- Organize quarterly review meetings for partners and communities at project sites to reflect on project approaches, best practices, impact of interventions, exit and sustainability strategies as well as create spaces and opportunities for action-learning and debate
- Network and collaborate with Districts, OPM, UNHCR and other relevant stakeholders in the Program Area.
Documentation, Reporting and Knowledge Management
- Conduct regular follow up visits to farmer groups, and their IGAs, and to members to see if they are applying the practices, and provide technical advice and mentoring.
- Writes and submits comprehensive monthly progress reports, and specific activity reports, and any other reports when necessary to his/her supervisor in a timely manner.
- Participate in monthly and quarterly financial reporting, including realization of activities versus budget utilization; (providing input) rationale on financial reporting.
- Facilitate data collection from saving groups, and manage information flow in the M&E (LEAP) database
- Participate in annual review and reflection workshops.
- Take lead in documentation and sharing of Impact/success stories and best practices to promote learning.
Child Protection, Gender, Disability Inclusion and Wellbeing
- Monitor the wellbeing and child abuse cases and report any incidents in line with child protection policy and guidelines.
- Work with local leaders to protect children from child violations and abuses
- Sensitize guardians/parents including most vulnerable children, and other stakeholders about children’s rights and responsibilities.
- Any other business as assigned by supervisor including participation in key committees and task forces and ensuring that the partner works
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Minimum education, training and experience requirements to qualify for the position:
- List academic requirements (if applicable), technical skills, or other knowledge required as a minimum qualification for this position.
- Minimum of Bachelors Degree in Animal Health and Production, Veterinary, Animal Production from a recognized University
- Experience in community work and engagement on animal production (Goat and Ppultry), Economic Development and Livelihood is and added advantage.
- Climate Smart Agriculture, Entrepreneurship, micro finance and strong agribusiness skills
- At least 3 years’ experience working with vulnerable communities and familiarity with humanitarian programming and implementation
List additional work experience required as a minimum qualification for this position.
- Minimum of 3-years professional work experience in project management, Livelihoods and rural development
- Experience of data collection, collation, analysis, and report writing
- Professional, motivated, open, creative, mature, responsible, flexible and, culturally sensitive
- Strong leadership, organizational and analytical skills, and ability to work under pressure
- Excellent verbal and written skills in English
- Excellent computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel, spreadsheets
License, registration, or certification required to perform this position:
- If applicable, include language requirement(s) as a minimum qualification for this position.
- Familiar with the WestNile languages and language spoken by refugees in Rhino and Bidibidi Track record demonstrating high integrity, innovativeness, creativity, reliability and dependable Team player, Self-motivator, able to work with limited supervision; Ability to ride a motorcycle with valid driving/riding license Effective in written and verbal communication in English. Ability to communicate in applicable local language(s) is an added advantage

Must be a committed Christian, able to stand above denominational diversities. Willing to attend and participate/lead in daily devotions and weekly Chapel services. Perform other duties as required
