About the Company:
MU-JHU Care Limited is a registered Ugandan non-governmental organization dedicated to providing services and conducting research on HIV/AIDS care and prevention related to mother-to-child transmission of HIV.
Job Summary: The successful person will be responsible for program’s inventory management, dispensing concomitant medications to clients and ensuring smooth dispensing room operations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: The holder of this position will work under the supervision of the Program manager and will be responsible for the following duties:
Stock Management (includes forecast/ requisition/ stocking/ storage/ verification/ dispensing and issuing of medications)
Maintains records to meet funder’s requirements
Coordinating inventory management and supply chain logistics to prevent stockouts
Ensure good maintenance of dispensing room, equipment and software therein.
Assisting with clinic’s quality assurance and quality control processes.
Actively engaging in continuous quality improvement initiatives at the clinic
Implement and monitor pharmacovigilance initiatives to identify and report adverse events.
Coordinating medication refills and clients’ appointments.
Support smooth implementation of community drug delivery models
Supervision and training of the staff supporting in the dispensing room
Enforcing general internal drug policies and procedures
Preparation and timely submission of reports on dispensing room activities
Performs related responsibilities as required
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
A Diploma in Pharmacy with at least 2 years’ working experience in a similar position within a busy health institution.
Priority will be given to applicants with previous working experience in a multi-disciplinary, HIV/AIDS medical research or program set-up.
Must have basic computer skills.
Previous work exposure in an HIV/AIDS related center will be considered an added advantage.
