Job Title: Engineering Intern – Internship Paid (No Experience Jobs)

Uganda Christian University (UCU) is an authentic Christian institution established by the Church of Uganda in 1997 in response to a call for quality university education with a Christian perspective. Uganda Christian University replaced the historic Bishop Tucker Theological College which trained clergy and educators during its 84-year history from 1913-1997. The local chief, Hamu Mukasa, granted land for the college to operate in Mukono.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct Structural, Water Resources, Geo-technical and Materials Engineering practicals for students.
Operate and maintain the University Biogas plant and solar energy plant.
Troubleshoot problems, and conduct tests, and periodically carry out biogas and solar plant audits and advise the Engineering and Environment staff.
Participating in the department’s community outreach programmes, exhibitions, and conferences.
Participate in personal and professional skills development activities such as research and postgraduate studies.
Assist students in field and laboratory experimental set up by demonstrating the proper and safe use of the equipment and ensure they have all the supplies they need to complete their practical assignments and projects.
Assist lecturers with setting up equipment and other supplies for practical courses before and during the lectures.
Peer mentorship of students.
Any other official duties that may be assigned by the Supervisor from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Civil & Environmental Engineering (at least second class) from Uganda Christian University.
Should have graduated between 2023 and 2024.
Must have knowledge in Structural Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, Material Engineering and Renewable Energy Technologies.
Excellent interpersonal/communications skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.
Must have a mature and committed Christian.
