Uganda National Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Alliance (UNREEEA) is a non-profit, non-partisan apex body/organization representing business associations and stakeholders in the renewable energy and energy efficiency subsector. UNREEEA aims to foster a conducive environment for private sector involvement in Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency to ensure sustainable growth and development.
Job Summary: The volunteer will support the Communications Department by assisting in the creation and management of content across various platforms. This role involves designing graphic content, supporting social media strategies, and contributing to the overall communications strategy to enhance the organization’s public engagement and outreach efforts.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Content Creation: Design and produce high-quality materials for digital and social media platforms, including graphics, videos, and other multimedia content.
- Brand Consistency: Ensure all marketing and social media content aligns with UNREEEA’s branding guidelines and messaging.
- Social Media Management: Assist in growing and managing the organization’s presence across social media platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter), including researching and monitoring competitors.
- Content Distribution: Develop and distribute engaging content in various formats such as e-newsletters, web pages, and blog posts.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing and communications team to implement best practices and strategies for effective social media and content marketing.
- Reporting: Track and report on the performance of social media campaigns and other communication initiatives to senior management.
- Additional Duties: Undertake any other tasks assigned by management that align with the communications goals of the organization.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Education: Graduate who pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Digital Marketing, or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in graphic design software and tools. Knowledge of the latest trends in digital marketing and design.
Personal Attributes:
- Analytical Skills: Ability to evaluate designs from the perspective of the target audience to ensure effective communication.
- Artistic Ability: Create visually appealing and artistically interesting designs, including hand sketches or digital illustrations.
- Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly and effectively.
- Creativity: Ability to develop unique and engaging designs that communicate the organization’s message.
- Time Management: Efficiently manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Accountability: Responsible for personal work and ensuring high-quality results.
- Planning and Organizing: Set clear goals and priorities to align with departmental strategies.
- Professionalism: Maintain a professional demeanor while being approachable and empathetic.
