Client brief:

Our Client is distributed in various industries that is; Engineering, Human Resources, Waste Management and Oil and Gas. The client offers Human Resource services, Waste Management services and Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) Installation, Maintenance and Revalidation. They are looking to fill the above position.

 

Job Summary:   Responsible and answerable for all activities undertaken in the transportation of waste from the client’s site to the disposal and/ or treatment facilities.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the waste logistics and waste tracking systems for future decision-making
  • Work closely with the logistics coordinators to ensure that vehicles that transport waste are readily available and fit for purpose when required
  • Ensure that the project waste map is adhered to strictly
  • Ensure that any machinery, equipment, or vehicles used on the project are maintained correctly to meet agreed waste management, health, and safety standards in liaison with the fleet manager
  • Ensure records of all maintenance, statutory and insurance inspections that pertain to the project are up to date and well kept.
  • Ensure that all waste transportation equipment is labeled as per NEMA laws and is compliant with all waste transportation license conditions
  • Track waste transportation license conditions and ensure that the vehicles comply
  • Submit quarterly waste volumes transported on the project to the waste manager
  • Maintain updated records of all personnel and equipment on the project
  • Work with the site mechanic and fleet manager to ensure that all maintenance action items are closed within 7 days of reporting
  • Ensure all copies of training records are up to date and on record.
  • Coordinate development and implementation of training and awareness programs with regard to waste management activities
  • Manage logistics subcontractors and ensure that they meet the required project standards
  • Comply with operational and all legal requirements with regard to Health and Safety.
  • Implementation of programs to address recommendations from consultants or clients, monitoring reports and audits.
  • Take part in internal audits and follow up on corrective action
  • Actively participate in external audits related to logistics.
  • Develop and maintain a compliance system with respect to site permits and legislation
  • Any other relevant duties assigned in the area of jurisdiction.




Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, operations, logistics, business administration, transportation, or Engineering
  • Master’s degree / Post Graduate Diploma Environment Management is an added advantage.

Experience and Competency Requirement

  • Experience Required for Position: 5-10years experience in a similar role

  • Strong team player
  • Ability to manage, coach, and provide training for direct reports
  • Ability to use IVMS tracking system
  • Exceptional organizational and analytical skills
  • Working knowledge of logistics and inventory software
  • Planning and organizing, leadership, problem solving, communication and negotiation skills, supervision skills, independent and self-motivated

Knowledge Requirement

  • QHSE: Knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environment procedures and methods involved in the transportation of waste and dangerous goods
  • Administration and Management: Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, leadership techniques and coordination of people and resources.

  • 100% Customer satisfaction (Internal & External
  • Number of Customer Complaints while on duty- Zero Tolerance
  • Number of Positive Reviews- At least 1 per Quarter
  • 100% Productivity
  • Number of reworks/ Errors – Zero Tolerance.
  • Number of Department Meetings Conducted – At least 1 Meeting per Quarter
  • Number of Operations/ Management Meetings Attended- All, Unless Occupied
  • Number of Outstanding Departmental Issues- Not exceed a month, unless beyond your control
  • Response Time: Timely Daily/ Weekly/ Monthly reporting – As Communicated by Company and Project Manager
  • 100% Compliance with AWMJV Q3HSE Rules, Regulations and Policies
  • Number of Safety Violations – Zero Tolerance
  • Number of safety incidents reported -At least 1 per Quarter
  • Number of Near misses reported- At least 2 per Quarter
  • Number of Involvements in QH3SE Activities/ Trainings and Meetings e.g., Tool Box Talks etc. If Conducted- All
  • 100% Compliance with all the other AWMJV Rules, Regulations and Policies
  • Number of Rules/Policies/ Regulations violations. Zero Tolerance
  • Number of trainings Attended- Attend All Scheduled Trainings
