Job Summary: Perform routine internal audit engagements in terms of ensuring the effectiveness of internal controls, processes, performance appraisals, financial and compliance audits, and providing input in the development of an annual audit work plan, in addition to maintaining a professional ethical standard.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide management with value for money audits by participating in the planning of auditable areas in order to determine audit objectives and resources needed.
Participate in the risk assessment of all auditable areas and updating audit program with relevant key tests.
Receiving the reviewed copy of the audit program and attend to review comments if any and communicating to the auditees and participating in entry meetings.
Analyzing information in form of comparison, and trend analysis and execution of the assignment (field engagement) where evidence is gathered.
Conduct internal audits to assess the adequacy, effectiveness and efficiency of the established internal controls and procedures and identify key areas of risk within the organization and propose appropriate controls to mitigate the risks.
Review the accuracy, timeliness and relevance of financial information and other disclosures provided to management.
Documentation of findings and filing of audit working papers report writing with relevant value adding recommendations
Holding an exit meeting and collect responses to issues raised and sending the draft report to the supervisor for review
Carrying out research on the selected topic through consulting the relevant books of authority together with the audit team
Perform routine and ad hoc assignments in relation to fuel Consummation reviews, obtain fleet consumption information, make analysis and perform reconciliations
Document Audit evidence and communicate results by submitting them for review and attend to review comments and log in the working papers in an audit file
Key Performance Indicators
Percentage of audits in relation to monthly target
Completed weekly audit presentations
Daily, weekly and monthly fuel consumption and bus inspection reports
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors’ Degree (Honors) in Business Administration or Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Accounting or Finance from a recognized University.
Must have attained at least CPA Level Two (02) Qualification at the time of responding to this job advertisement.
Working Experience
Four (04) years working experience in Internal Auditing or Accounting, two (02) of which should have been in auditing in a reputable organization.
