Southgate Industries is a leading fruit processing company, located in Kampala Industrial & Business Park (KIBP Namanve). We process pineapples, mangoes, and bananas into puree, concentrate, and other value-added products.
Job Summary: The Electrical Technician will be responsible for maintaining and repairing electrical systems and equipment in the production plant. This role will involve diagnosing electrical issues, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring that all electrical systems are functioning safely and efficiently
Key Duties and Responsibilities: The electrical Technician oversees
- Electrical Maintenance
- Safety and Compliance
- Equipment Installation
Duty/Responsibility
- Perform preventive maintenance on electrical equipment such as control panels, motors, and power distribution systems.
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults to ensure minimal production disruptions.
- Ensure all electrical systems are compliant with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Conduct electrical safety inspections regularly and report any risks or hazards.
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of new electrical equipment.
- Ensure electrical systems are optimized for energy efficiency and operational reliability.
- Work closely with the maintenance and production teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- At least 2 years of experience in maintenance work, preferably in the food/beverage industry.
Educational Requirements:
- Diploma or Advanced Certificate in Electrical Engineering.
Additional skills:
- In addition to the experience and educational requirements listed above
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read technical manuals and blueprints.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
