The bank offers a variety of Products and services including; Savings, Current accounts, Loans, Money transfer services and Bills payments to its target market which comprises of micro, small and medium entrepreneurs, salary earners and youth.
Job Summary: The Business Analyst will be responsible for aggregating data from primary and secondary sources and maintain a database to optimize efficiency, analyze and interpret data into meaningful information to support the decision-making process.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for the daily reviews and reporting of the business performance.
Analyze performance of the various business portfolios and give insights to the business heads.
Carry out competitor analysis of business performance.
Conduct market analysis, analyzing business lines and the overall profitability of the Business.
Develop and monitor data quality metrics and ensure business data and reporting needs are met.
Create a detailed business analysis, outlining challenges opportunities and solutions for a business.
Perform financial and operational modelling, and develop new models that underpin sound business decisions.
Provide financial insights to support in decision-making process
Lead reviews of business processes and developing optimization strategies
Gathering, validating and documenting business requirements.
Analyse commercial data such as budgets, sales results and forecasts.
Modelling business processes and identifying opportunities for process improvements.
Build automated dashboards and reports to monitor and track important business metrics to improve efficiency and encourage self-service by user.
Design, build, integrate and sustain advanced analytics models using statistical and machine learning techniques that include but not limited to: Retention/Churn/Attrition models, Customer lifetime value models, Customer profiling, Clustering/Segmentation and Propensity models.
Support the bank’s system development and acquisition projects by providing guidance on the most efficient data structures to be adopted and/or acquired.
Ensure that insights, analytics, and models adhere to the defined and agreed service level agreements (SLAs).
Support in the design of business budgets as well as the periodic tracking of the attainment of these and reporting to the key stakeholders.
Financial Targets as will be agreed with supervisors from time to time at the beginning of the appraisal period.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science Statistics, Business Administration, Economics, mathematics, or relevant sciences from a recognized university.
Work experience as a data analyst or in related field for at least 3 years.
Ability to translate business requirements into non-technical, lay terms.
High-level experience in methodologies and processes for managing large scale databases, i.e.
demonstrated experience in handling large data sets and relational databases.
1 to 3 years of banking industry/sector experience.
Self-motivated, proactive and have a positive attitude to work requiring minimum supervision.
Excellent organizational skills including the ability to handle a variety of assignments sometimes under pressure of deadlines. Cooperative, hardworking, flexible & dependable.
Ability to communicate effectively, instilling trust and confidence.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Demonstrate high integrity and have a sense of confidentiality.
Willing to take on extra responsibilities to achieve the goals/ objectives set by the organization.
