Job Summary:   The Finance Manager is responsible for the development of the Finance Team (3 persons). He/she will ensure that all financial data & reportings are correct, aimed at timely and within the Group’s guidelines. The person is able to translate financial information into a relevant business context so departments can act upon it.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Empower the Finance team

  • Lead the business controlling activities (analysis of monthly figures & budgeting).
  • Ensure completeness, accuracy and reliability of the monthly financial closing
  • Prepare timely and accurate statutory company accounts including balance sheets annually + co-ordinate with the external auditor.
  • Review and constantly improve the organization’s internal control systems & procedures
  • Help the company to become future proof by implementing new tools, software, digitalization of processes, etc.

 

Key Performance Measures

  • Happy & autonomous team
  • Have monthly reports that identify results, trends and trigger action
  • Be able to act as a Financial Business Partner towards the Head of Departments.
  • Present the monthly figures to the NL HQ
  • Monthly closing is completed by work day 4 of the next month.
  • Financial statements are signed off timely
  • without material adjustments.
  • Update financial procedures that lead to an improved way of working
  • Autonomous project leader

 

Work Environment/Condition: The position is office based, in Namaiba (near Mukono). Required to live in Seeta or closer.

Lead a young & dynamic team that works according to the principles of freedom & responsibility.

Mentored by an experienced European finance professional





Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum work experience of 3 years in leading a finance team.
  • The candidate should possess a master degree in Finance or a bachelor with completed ACCA / CPA.
  • Excellent analytical & problem-solving skills. This will be tested before doing an interview.
  • Excellent computer skills (Ms. Excel)
  • Excellent communication / interpersonal skills and a high level of service orientation
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • High integrity and ethical standards
  • Good planning and organizational skills like ability to make priorities
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Person with a long-term mindset
