Job Title:  Commercial Manager

Job Summary:   We are looking for a qualified candidate with Experience in Logistics to fill the position of Commercial Manager at our Group company, Logistics Three Sixty Five Ltd.

Objectives of this role

1. Devise and implement strategies that boost the overall commercial growth of the company.
2. Oversee the operational and financial management of the company.
3. Develop and foster client relationships within the commercial manager job role, to create business growth opportunities.
4. Identify expansion and growth opportunities and use commercial management skills to implement the same.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Negotiate with clients, customers and suppliers to maximize the return on investment of the company
2. Coordinate with the other commercial/client Managers and give regular updates on the progress of various projects.
3. Conduct periodic market research and identify prospective business opportunities.
4. Maintain reports and records of the budgets, expenses and revenue that fall under the commercial manager job role.
5. Support the other departments with queries about commercial processes as a commercial manager.
6. Manage commercial risks and devise strategies to overcome them.
7. Discover and implement growth strategies that boost financial success.
8. Oversee the performance of the commercial team in the right direction.
9. Monitor branding and marketing initiatives to improve the commercial success of the business.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

1. Bachelor’s degree in business management, marketing, administration, or a related field
2. 8-10 years experience as a commercial manager, or as an assistant commercial manager
3. Acquaintance with business development or marketing
4. Strong leadership skills, with the ability to think strategically
5. Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
6. Familiarity with project management
7. Ability to work under pressure independently as a commercial manager
8. Skillset to develop and foster relationships with clients, suppliers, and customers
9. Strong commercial/business network in Uganda and the entire East Africa Region.
10. The candidate with experience in transport & logistics shall have an added advantage.
