Our client is a Microfinance Company licensed in Uganda under the Company’s Act and regulated by the Uganda Microfinance Regulation Authority (UMRA).
Job Summary: The Branch Manager is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the branch operations, leading a team of 20 staff members, and ensuring efficient sales and debt collection processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales management, excellent leadership abilities and a strategic mindset, coupled with key experience in debt collection, preferably within the microfinance industry.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead, motivate, and manage a team of 20 employees, including sales representatives and debt collectors.
- Monitor loan portfolios, repayment schedules, and client data.
- Set performance targets, monitor progress, and provide regular feedback to team members.
- Foster a positive work environment that encourages collaboration, productivity, and professional growth.
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue targets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and partners.
- Oversee debt collection efforts, ensuring timely and effective recovery.
- Analyse market trends, customer behaviour, and competitor activities to inform sales and collection approaches.
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and escalations professionally.
- Identify growth opportunities, assess risks, and make informed decisions.
- Ability to motivate and inspire a team to achieve and exceed strategic targets, consistently.
- Find solutions to operational challenges and ensure smooth branch functioning.
- Ensure accurate record-keeping, compliance with policies, and adherence to procedures.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
- Proven track record of 3-5 years in sales management in financial services or microfinance.
- Experience in debt collection and recovery.
- Proficiency in using relevant software and tools.
