About Organisation:
Africa Medical and Behavioural Sciences Organization (AMBSO) is a locally registered not-for-profit Research and Service based Organization that is immensely contributing to knowledge on HIV infection, other infectious and non-communicable diseases at both national and international levels.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct data collection and study related clinical assessments using approved case report forms
- Support in the clinical case management of study participants including ensuring participants receive appropriate care and medical evaluations.
- Ensure ethical conduct and respect to all study participants and their information
- Maintain participant management logs; including completing of study documents and participant facing materials.
- Ensure participant safety evaluation, as well as alerting Medical Officers and Study Coordinators of any serious adverse events and other reportable protocol events that may occur in the course of the study.
- At all times, ensure safe practices including infection prevention and control (IPC) and taking full care of the work environment.
- Identify participants’ concerns and assist in formulating mitigating plans.
- Support all processes for participant recruitment and retention.
- Participate in specimen collection processes, procedures and documentation.
- Participate in study quality control processes.
- Participate in the protocol meetings and trainings.
- Perform any other duties that are necessary for carrying out the study protocol procedures as assigned by the Study Coordinator(s).
- Any duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Community Health from a recognized Training Institution in Uganda
- Full registration and up to date practicing license with the Allied Health Professionals Council is a must.
- Prior experience working with pediatrics and HIV is recommended.
- Interest working in research and clinical trials.
- Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
