Job Summary: The Quality Controller will be responsible for quality control of both input and output grain, processes and standards to assure produce is within customer specifications.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct Tests and Assessment on the produce & reject that that does not meet set standards
- Maintain quality Standards of produce that meets East African Standards
- Receive produce on behalf of the company.
- Carry out stock records on a daily basis both day’s purchases, production and sales.
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly and monthly reports to the operations Manager.
- Advice management on purchase, production and safe storage of Grain at all times.
- Update and maintain testing equipment
- Keep records of all tests carried out and retain samples for a specified period
- Ensure quality of packaging material
- Arrange, coordinate and participate in internal and external quality audits and trainings
- Draft and review Quality policies, standards and procedures manual
- Any other duty that may be assigned from time to time.

- Daily, weekly, monthly reports on the produce bought, stored etc
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- A Degree in; Food science, Bio-chemistry, Agri-Business, Agriculture (Crop) or any other related field.
- At least Three (3) years’ practical experience in grain handling or milling in a big and reputable organization OR a Higher Diploma in any of the fields above but with at least 7 years’ experience in the grain handling business in a big and reputable company

Technical Competencies
- Strong knowledge in store management especially managing stock records.
- Strong knowledge of maintaining quality & general cleanliness in stores.
- Very good knowledge in fumigation is an added advantage.
- Knowledge of quality produce that meets the East African standards & WFP is a plus.
- He or she candidate must be knowledgeable in food safety principles and Quality Audit
- Ability to interpret chemical, microbiological and physical results, carry out Data analysis
