Job Summary:   The job holder verifies the authenticity of loan documentation o determine whether it adheres to the credit policy and checks for potential fraud and forgeries. Key focus being timely review of loan applications to serve our clients in the least time possible.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• To review all electronic loan documents received from the Escalation officer through the DIGIBAY and EDMS system with key focus on whether they have all the requirements as per BFS credit policies and procedures.
• Conduct fraud checks by verifying signatures of approving authority, verification of correctness of attached documents. Only highly suspected documents are to be shared with the Fraud Unit for further scrutiny.
• Verify the checks done by the team affordability calculations, credit policy, mobile platform, various databases and loan documentation for previous loans taken by the client to ensure correct loan calculations and that the loan applicant is a genuine client.
• Capture and issue information for new clients and updating existing clients’ information in the system.
• Recommend authentic loan documents as per approved Credit policy for approval and decline substandard loan documents with clearly stated reasons attached. Coordinate with branches to send loan corrections in the interest of serving the client quickly.
• To approve loans on the systems, print/ scan the final batches of the disbursed loans for the Head of Credit sign off to then refer for finance to credit the clients’ accounts.
• Prepare the daily reports/update daily as assigned by the Head of Credit

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• A University Degree in Business Studies or any related field is required.
• A minimum of one year of experience working with Bayport Financial Services or any other financial institution is an added advantage.
• Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office is a MUST
