The African Network for the Care of Children Affected by HIV/AIDS (ANECCA) is a network of clinicians and social scientists across Africa working to improve the quality of health care services for women, children, adolescents, young adults, and their families in Africa by strengthening the RMNCAHN platform. ANECCA is a registered NGO in Uganda with strong collaboration with the Ministry of Health and other institutions.
Job Summary: Implement strategies for delivery of Quality and efficient differentiated HIV testing services (HTS) including targeted HTS for Key and Priority populations (KP/PP), Prevention of mother to child transmission of HIV (PMTCT) services, early infant diagnosis (EID) services in line with MOH guidelines.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implement annual and quarterly work plans& budgets for HTS, PMTCT and EID in line the Technical Services workplan& budget and MOH guidelines.
- Build capacity of facility based & community-based teams through trainings, coaching and mentorship in efficient Differentiated models of HTS, eMTCT & EID, in line with MOH policy guidelines.
- Implement delivery of quality services HTS, PMTCT and EID, distribution and utilization of associated HIV commodities at different health facilities in line with MOH guidelines.
- Implementation Quality improvement and innovative differentiated models of HTS, eMTCT/EID in line CQI and MOH guidelines.
- Monitor the achievement of performance against of set HTS, eMTCT/EID targets, prepare periodic reports and support timely corrective actions of identified gaps at health facilities and with Community based teams in line the best practices & MoH guidelines.
- Establish collaborative partnerships with Health facilities, Governments, Community Based Organizations, and other corporate entities for a coordinated HIV response in line Technical Services Directorate mission and MOH guidelines.
- Document best practices and success stories on HTS, eMTCT/EID to enable replication and improvement of LPHS – Karamoja project.
- Maintaining accurate records and data on testing, referrals, and outcomes in line the Technical Services Mission and MEL reporting guidelines.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- A degree in Medicine or Nursing or allied Health.
- Demonstrated experience in supporting comprehensive HIV care with a focus on pediatrics HIV including HTS and counselling services, elimination of Mother to Child Transmission of HIV and Early Infant Diagnosis
- Knowledge of HIV/AIDS-related issues and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards
- Good communication skills, interpersonal & networking skills with facility based, partners & community structures.
