Job Summary: The Plant Manager will oversee all aspects of plant operations, ensuring that production targets are met efficiently while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing production facilities, optimizing manufacturing processes, and leading teams to achieve operational excellence. They will be responsible for resource management, process improvement, and fostering a safe, compliant, and productive work environment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Production and Quality Management
Develop and execute production plans in line with set targets, ensuring efficient use of resources.
Establish standard operating procedures, quality specifications for materials, products, and machinery settings.
Design and implement quality controls to enhance the accuracy, reliability, and productivity of production processes.
Drive an effective quality assurance program, including ISO QMS and KAIZEN culture implementation.
Operational Oversight
Oversee the maintenance of work areas, machinery, and tools to ensure optimal performance and safety.
Manage manpower, equipment planning, and test assurance to address and mitigate product quality deviations.
Implement cost reduction strategies and manage operational expenses within budgetary limits.
Continuous Improvement and Compliance
Lead research and development initiatives to identify and implement process and quality improvements that enhance customer satisfaction.
Ensure compliance with environmental, occupational health and safety regulations, including NEMA, DWRM, UNBS, and KCCA requirements.
Champion health and safety within the facility, keeping management informed of any issues that require attention.
Team Leadership and Development
Drive staff orientation, training, coaching, and development to ensure high performance and adherence to quality control routines.
Manage employee performance reviews, appraisals, promotions, and identify training needs.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and customer focus within the team.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Chemistry, Science Technology, Chemical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related field.
8+ years of relevant working experience.
Experience in plant management and manufacturing operations.
Strong communication, management and supervisory skills.
Experience working in battery manufacturing would be an added advantage.
