Job Title:  Relationship Officer – Community Banking (No Experience Jobs)

Pride Microfinance Limited (MDI) is a Microfinance Deposit- taking Institution regulated and supervised by Bank of Uganda (BoU) under the MDI Act, 2003 and MDI Regulations, 2004 with a capital base of Ugx. 168.6 billion. Pride’s purpose is transforming lives responsibly. Pride offers innovative financial solutions to largely people at the base of the economic pyramid and serves its customers through 40 networked branches and 6 contact offices spread across the country and implements sustainability sound practices throughout its business operations to create a positive impact through three sustainability pillars; economic, environment, and social as well as contributing to the Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs) and their investable sub-goals that relate to microfinance activities.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. To recruit, nature  and  sustain  new  group  relationships  that  have  the  potential  to  grow  and  provide  superior  returns  and  contribute  towards  assets  and  liabilities  growth  as  per  set  targets.
  2. Active pipeline management  with  the  objective  to  meet  agreed  personal  growth  objectives  across  all  product  ranges  and  clients’  segments.
  3. Superior management of  the  client  portfolio  to  grow  and  retain  existing  business,  whilst  continuously  reviewing  existing  client  wallets  with  an  eye  to  optimizing  the  Bank’s  revenue  through  selling/promoting  appropriate  product  bundles.
  4. Actively undertake the  negotiation  and  structuring  of  transactions  in  the  prospective  and  closing  stages  with  the  aim  of  attaining  value  for  the  client,  while  protecting  the  business  interests  of  the  Bank
  5. Work hand-in-hand with  other  stakeholders  on  the  timely  and  efficient  preparation  of  high-quality  credit  proposals,  and  drive  turn-around  time  well  within  the  Bank’s  objectives.
  6. Vigilant arrears management  in  line  with  the  Bank’s  policies  to  spot  early  attention  areas  –  the  objective  is  to  maintain  the  loan  portfolio’s  NPA  percentage  (well)  within  agreed  parameters.
  7. Active pipeline management  with  the  objective  of  meeting  agreed  personal  growth  objectives  across  all  product  ranges  and  clients  segments.
  8. Develop and maintain  well  documented  reports/visits/contracts  with  all  the  Bank’s  relationships,  management,  and  other  units





Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

Education  &  Training

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s  Degree  in  any  business-related  discipline  including  agribusiness  Management.

Skills  &  Experience

  • Must have critical  thinking,  analytical,  attention  to  detail  and  problem-solving  skills.
  • Good verbal and  written  communication  skills
  • Understanding of the  Banking  environment.
  • Advanced, computer literacy,  numerical  skills  and  statistical  skills.
  • Team player, ability  to  work  under  pressure  and  in  position  to  exercise  excellent  judgment.

Business  Behaviors

  • Must be able  to  ride  a  motorcycle  and  should  possess  a  valid  riding  permit.
  • Should be fluent  in  commonly  used  local  languages  within  the  area.
  • The ability to  communicate  clearly  both  verbally  and  in  written  form.
  • Ability to build  functioning  working  relationships  across  organizational,  corporate,  and  cultural  boundaries.
  • Takes clear accountability  and  focuses  on  delivery  of  broader  corporate  goals.
  • Ability to take  decisions  and  progress  towards  goals  in  conditions  of  uncertainty.
  • Ability to demonstrate  positive  image  and  role  model  Pride’s  values.
  • Must be a  person  of  impeccable  integrity.

NB: For  internal  staff  to  qualify  for  the  above  positions,  they  should  have  met  expectations  in  the  recently  concluded  performance  evaluations.
