Job Summary:   DEI BioPharma Ltd., a Drugs and Vaccines Manufacturing Plant is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Mechanical Technician.

The Mechanical Technician is responsible for Creating Technical Drawings, Collaborating with Engineers and Architects, Ensuring Compliance with Standards, Updating and Revising Plans, Documentation and Record-Keeping:

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Install and configure mechanical equipment, including pumps, compressors, conveyors, and production machinery.
  • Ensure all equipment is correctly aligned, calibrated, and functioning according to operational specifications.
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on mechanical systems and equipment to avoid breakdowns and prolong equipment life.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical issues with production machines, HVAC systems, boilers, and other mechanical systems.
  • Provide technical support to the production team by ensuring all mechanical systems operate efficiently and without disruption.
  • Collaborate with engineers and production staff to optimize equipment performance and production output.
  • Monitor and inspect mechanical systems, including motors, gearboxes, pumps, and valves, to ensure they operate within specified parameters.
  • Use diagnostic tools and equipment to check for potential issues and improve system reliability.
  • Ensure mechanical equipment and work areas comply with local safety regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and industry standards.
  • Adhere to safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment modifications.
  • Update equipment logs, service manuals, and ensure that technical documentation is current and accessible.
  • Calibrate equipment and machinery as needed to ensure precision in production processes.
  • Perform testing and quality checks on mechanical systems to ensure equipment meets operational standards.
  • Manage spare parts inventory, order replacement parts, and ensure availability of necessary tools and components.
  • Keep track of mechanical parts and ensure proper storage and organization of equipment and materials.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of mechanical system upgrades or modifications to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Assist engineers in retrofitting existing systems or installing recent technology in line with production needs.
  • Work closely with maintenance teams, electrical technicians, and engineers to coordinate maintenance schedules and resolve complex mechanical issues.
  • Provide technical input for projects and improvements to mechanical systems.





Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

Education:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Technology, or a related field from a recognized technical institute.

Experience:

  • 2 years of experience as a mechanical technician, preferably in a BioPharma, pharmaceutical, or manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on experience with maintaining and repairing production machinery, HVAC systems, pumps, compressors, and mechanical equipment.

Job knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems and machinery used in industrial and manufacturing settings.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) is preferred.
  • Language: English level IV (Advanced knowledge) Reading/Writing/Speaking is required.
