About Organisation:
TPO Uganda is a local Ugandan NGO that has been operating in the country for 27 years. Our programs comprise interventions organised around the following themes: Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Care and protection of OVC; child protection, livelihoods support, response and prevention of all forms of violence against women and children as well as emergency response and humanitarian action. TPO Uganda is active in over 45 districts in the region and is a member of several partnerships and coordination mechanisms in the country.
Job Summary: This role is responsible for routine and basic accounting work involving carrying out initial data entry, sorting documents, filing and keeping custody of accounting and financial transaction records. The role supports the accountant to implement effective and efficient financial controls within the context of the country strategy as well as the finance team objectives, financial regulations, policies and standard operating procedures. The position holder will also be expected to prepare and present reports as per TPO reporting guidelines and schedule.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting
- Cash flow management
- Participate and assist in the TPO’s year-end audit- schedules
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or a relevant field from a recognised university
- Professional accounting qualification desirable
- Quality and relevant experience in finance and accountancy in a in a major organisation
- IT literate and excellent knowledge and skills in using computer-based accounting systems and Microsoft Excel and Word packages.
- Knowledge of government policies and regulations on financial management and taxation

- Knowledge of statutory and tax regulations
