Job Summary: DEI BioPharma Ltd., a Drugs and Vaccines Manufacturing Plant is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Electrical Technician.
The Electrical Technician will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance, installing and repairing electrical equipment, and ensuring that all systems operate safely and efficiently in compliance with regulatory standards, including GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment in compliance with regulatory standards and safety protocols.
- Set up wiring, lighting, power supply systems, and specialized equipment for production facilities.
- Diagnose and repair electrical issues in machinery, production equipment, and control systems to ensure minimal downtime.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical problems related to motors, drives, generators, and other essential equipment.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems, machinery, and control panels to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Test electrical components such as circuit breakers, transformers, and switches to ensure they are functioning properly.
- Ensure that all electrical work complies with local building codes, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Follow Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) guidelines to minimize electrical hazards and ensure worker safety.
- Install and maintain control systems, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), used in automated production processes.
- Ensure control panels and electrical connections meet operational requirements for BioPharma production equipment.
- Monitor and optimize energy consumption to ensure efficient operation of electrical systems and reduce energy costs.
- Implement energy-saving measures and improvements for electrical systems and equipment.
- Respond to urgent electrical issues, equipment failures, and power outages to minimize disruption to production processes.
- Ensure rapid diagnosis and repair of critical electrical failures affecting production lines or safety systems.
- Maintain accurate records of electrical maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
- Document electrical system modifications and update technical manuals and schematics as needed.
- Work closely with other technicians, engineers, and maintenance personnel to coordinate electrical installations and repairs.
- Assist in planning and executing electrical upgrades and infrastructure improvements.
- Stay updated on the latest electrical technologies, tools, and safety standards.
- Provide training and guidance to junior electricians or other staff members on proper electrical procedures and safety measures
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Education: Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or a related field from a recognized technical or vocational institution.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as an industrial electrician, preferably in a BioPharma, pharmaceutical, or manufacturing environment. Experience with PLC systems, electrical troubleshooting, and automated machinery is an advantage.
- Job knowledge: Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, circuits, and electrical codes (such as the National Electrical Code (NEC) or local standards). Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and electrical requirements in a regulated BioPharma environment.
- Language: English level IV (Advanced knowledge) Reading/Writing/Speaking is required.
