We are on a mission to provide affordable and digital financial products to farmers across East Africa. The company was started in 2020 and is the first digital lender for farmers in Uganda. We use cutting-edge technology to offer loans up to 5x more affordable than current alternatives and empower farmers to invest in their farms.
Job Summary: You will report directly to the CEO. The position is full-time and located in our beautiful office in Bugolobi, Kampala. Are you passionate about finance and technology? Do you have a strong background in accounting? Join us in revolutionising farmer financing! 🐄
Key Duties and Responsibilities: You will join the team as a full-time Financial Accountant. As such, you are responsible for our financial accounting, repayment reconciliations, and reporting to our funders and investors. Concretely, your responsibilities include:
- Financial accounting, management reporting, and audits
- Reconcile business and lending activities
- Head our repayment team that handles incoming loan repayments and resolve non-repayment issues together with our team and partners
- Report to funding partners and investors
- Support the closing of investments and funding deals
- Contribute to fact-based decision making
Qualifications, Skills and Experience: We are looking for a down-to-earth and meticulous person with a knack for numbers. In a perfect world you bring the following:
- 3-5 years of experience in accounting or controlling, ideally with financial institutions
- Good understanding of credit
- Meticulous work attitude and high attention to detail
- Hands-on mentality
- Desire to work in a fast-paced tech startup
- Advanced excel skills
- Experience with Quickbooks is an advantage
