Job Summary:   We are looking for an Education Advisor who will operate from our country office in Kampala Uganda, with frequent travel to other locations as the programme may require. The Education Advisor will provide advice to and capacity development of our education partners.

As an Education Advisor, you provide technical support focusing on training of partners, Development of Teaching Learning Support Materials (TLSMs), capacity development of WOB staff, planning, implementation and monitoring of the project. The Education Advisor reports to the Education Manager. You are part of and work closely with your direct colleagues of the Programme Team and with the Project Coordinators when relevant. Furthermore, you work closely together with all other departments in your country, specifically the Strategic Education Advisors in your country, and with the Global Strategic Education Advisors at HQ.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Offer technical advice, guidance and support to internal WOB colleagues to achieve project results and to partners in order to realize educational change processes supported by the project.
• Contribute to the identification, formulation, budgeting, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the project in order to realize educational change processes supported by the project.
• Take up a variety of roles in the capacity development process of the partners according to the needs of the partner and particular situations and phases of the programme;
• Keep abreast with policy trends, new developments and latest research and thinking in education and international development by external and internal networking and share new insights with partners and WOB colleagues.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• Master’s degree in education, human sciences, or other relevant field or equivalent experience
• Knowledge of and experience with programme management, preferably project cycle management.
• Experience with change management and capacity development processes in the context of educational institutions.
• An in-depth understanding of national education systems and the latest developments in the education sector
• Fluent in English both verbal and written
• Prior experience with Teaching at the Right Level is an advantage
