Environmental Management for Livelihood Improvement Bwaise Facility (EMLI) is a national membership environmental non-governmental and non-profit making organization registered with the National Bureau for NGOs (NGO Bureau), registration no. INDR79123491NB.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Financial Management and Reporting
Initiating all financial transactions
Managing payment of monthly payroll and benefits, all invoices, expense reimbursements, cash advance and report from staff
Preparing and filing monthly and annual returns & manage income tax queries as needed
Recording all financial transactions in appropriate accounting program and generating monthly financial reports.
Preparing monthly Bank reconciliation
Ensuring compliance with EMLI Financial Policy
Management support
Serving as custodian for management of office stationery supplies including maintenance of stock list of stationery, distribution of stationery as required by staff and keeping a log of distribution
Serving as human resource assistant to; organize staff records, update inventory, perform electronic filing and records archiving
Assisting with the scheduling, preparation and coordination of meetings
Liaising with third party providers, clients and suppliers.
Updating and maintaining financial procedures
Performing clerical tasks such as filing, handling mail, making phone calls,
Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Senior Accounts and Administrative Officer and which do not conflict with primary duties and responsibilities as outlined above.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Education: Bachelors Degree in Commerce (Accounting option) or Bachelors Degree in Business Administration (Accounting option). Partial Professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, CIMA, etc.) will be an added advantage.
Years of experience: 3 years’ experience in the field of Financial role preferably in the NGO Sector.
Knowledge of financial procedures and Accounting software (Quickbooks)
The applicant should be fluent in written and spoken English
Should be able to work under pressure and meeting deadlines
Should be Computer literate
Should have excellent communication skills
The applicant should not be above 28 years as of 24 September 2024
