About the Company:
Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited (UEDCL) is a limited liability company incorporated in Uganda under the Companies Act. UEDCL owns the 33KV and below voltage electricity distribution networks and all the operational assets associated with the business currently leased to Umeme Ltd. The company monitors Umeme Ltd and other Concessionaires in Uganda, directly distributes of power in Ten (10) territories covering over 86 rural and border districts, operates a modern pole plant at Lugogo, and executes key rural electrification schemes on behalf of Government of Uganda.
Job Summary: The Company is seeking to recruit qualified, competent, and highly motivated Ugandans for the role of assistant Linesmen. To support the technical assistant in: Connections, Power restorations, Network Expansion and Maintenance while paying strict attention to safety.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain the network.
- Erect new pole service.
- Replace broken HV and LV poles.
- Re-conducting on net work .
- Simple /small system improvement.
- Report all illegal connections.
- Report all hazardous situations on the Network.
- Clear the line of hazardous vegetation.
- Ensure that there is +effective customer satisfaction.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Certificate in electrical engineering
- At least One (1) year post qualification experience in electrical related industry.
Personal Attributes/Competencies.
- Efficient Pole Climbing is a MUST.
- Honesty and integrity, Accuracy, Team player, Attention to detail, Excellent, communication skills, Excellent customer care skills.
- Ability to work with little supervision, and work under pressure to keep lights on.
- Must be ready to work anywhere in Uganda
