Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the Crisis Response Unit in the implementation and delivery of food and nutrition assistance to both refugees and vulnerable host population.
- Support in strategic programmatic drive implementation within the Crises Response unit Support programme assurance and its implementation processes.
- Lead on monthly accountabilities and reconciliations across programme interventions.
- Support beneficiary sensitization and awareness creation activities as well as training and capacity building/strengthening for staff and other key stakeholders.
- Support pre, in and post monthly distribution activities including monitoring and reporting.
- Support resource management ensuring efficient monitoring across various pipeline levels.
- Review, compile and analyze program activity data of implementing and cooperating partners, prepare periodic and ad hoc reports, in support of programme implementation.
- Support programme implementation across various WFP intervention locations.
- Support in donor proposal and report writing as well as unit factsheets and standard reports.
- Participate in both internal and external coordination and other required meetings.
- Perform any other tasks as may be required.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Required education level: Bachelor degree or equivalent in Development Studies, Accounting, Business Studies/Management, Economics, Statistics or Management Information Studies/Systems, Information Studies, Computer Science.
- Eligibility criteria: Age 18 – 80
- Nationality: Candidate must be a national or legal resident of the country of assignment.
Required experience
- 1 years of experience in accountancy/audit and reconciliation related work, humanitarian and development programming, report and project/donor proposal writing, coordination and donor proposals and drafting of donor/end of project reports, consolidating information from different sources, sensitization and awareness creation.
- Good Microsoft Word, Excel, Power point and Access skills
- Ability to perform Statistical analysis, Accounting and Reconciliation
- Programme/Project Management experience especially in developmental and humanitarian programming.
- Ability to implement, under guidance, food assistance programmes deploying the full range of transfer modalities with an understanding of basic principles guiding assessments, modality selection and implementation.
- Broad Knowledge of Specialized Areas: Understands basic technical concepts and data and their relevance to food assistance programmes.
- Excellent analytical and writing skills, as well as strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.
- Ability to work in a team as well as under tight deadlines and pressure.
- Sound security awareness
- Have interest in saving and changing lives through provision of food assistance to achieve zero hunger with WFP; volunteerism as a mechanism for durable development, and the UN System.
