DAS provides the full spectrum of ground handling services ranging from Special Flights Coordination, Ramp Operations, Passenger Services, Document Verification, Load Control, Turn around Coordination, Fast Track, Cargo Handling as well as Security Services. In terms of infrastructure DAS has more than 2500 square meters of warehouse space for general cargo as well as 1000 square meters cold storage for all types of perishable cargo.

DAS Handling Ltd, an independent Ground Handling service provider based at Entebbe International Airport, is recruiting a full-time Workshop Manager.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:   The incumbent will report directly to the Managing Director and carry out the following duties:

• Ensure smooth day-to-day operations of the workshop, including scheduling, resource allocation and quality control
• Conduct initial safety risk assessment and mitigation of identified safety hazards within the workshop
• Contact equipment manufacturers and suppliers for technical support, updates and procurement of spare parts in liaison with the Finance Manager and Procurement Managers
• Ensure that all ground support equipment (GSE) is maintained and repaired to meet operational demands and safety standards
• Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures to maximize equipment uptime and longevity
• Manage inventory levels including spare parts and tools ensuring availability for maintenance activities within the workshop
• Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support for complex maintenance issues
• Prepare and manage the workshop budget including costs for labor, spare parts and equipment
• Review and update technical documentation ie manuals and maintenance records as required
• Write and submit monthly reports and annual departmental budget to the Managing Director

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or its equivalent.
• The candidate should possess outstanding technical expertise with strong mechanical skills, excellent knowledge about hydraulics, electrical wiring, Arc and Gas welding, panel beating and other related skills
• Have computer competence and skills
• Possess strong work ethic and adept negotiation skills
• Have strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and mentor a diverse team
• Ability to consistently meet deadlines and deliver successful outcomes
• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities

Work Experience

• Applicants should have at least four (4) years of experience in a management or supervisory position with a reputable organization.
