Job Summary: To drive the development, management and optimization of the Bank’s assets and liabilities products and services to meet customer needs, enhance the Bank’s competitive position and drive revenue growth.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Development and enhancement of banking products and services by conducting market research, analysing customer needs and collaborating with cross functional teams to design and launch innovative solutions that differentiate the bank in the market
- Manage the entire cycle of banking products and services from conceptualisation to launch and ongoing optimization, ensuring they are competitive, profitable and align with overall business strategy.
- Monitor product performance, analyse key performance metrics and make data driven decisions to enhance product profitability and customer satisfaction.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, competitive landscape, identify opportunities, use market insights to inform product strategy, pricing decisions and go-to-market plans.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards and ensure the products and services comply with relevant regulations and guidelines to mitigate risk and maintain regulatory compliance
- Collaborate with cross functional teams including Marketing, Retail Corporate, Operations, IT, Risk, Compliance to design, launch and promote new products and services.
- Understand customer needs, behaviours and preferences to design, enhance products that address their financial goals and enhance banking experience
- Develop product pricing strategies to drive product adoption, revenue growth and competitiveness in the market
- Prepare regular reports, presentations and recommendations for management on product performance, market trends, and strategic initiatives.
- Support Bank staff with product training to drive product adoption and utilisation of banking products
- Monitor and provide report on competitor product activity, including pricing.
- Embed the Innovation framework to generate new ideas in the bank.
- Ensure correct bundling of product to drive product uptake and monitor the uptake to ensure customers adopt the entire suite of bank products.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Education and experience required
- At least Business degree Finance, Marketing or relevant experience in Statistics, Commerce, Quantitative Economics.
- At least three years’ experience in a Retail & Business Banking environment.
Knowledge and skills:
Essential:
- Knowledge of product management cycle.
- Knowledge of Bank products, services and policies including standard tariffs
- A good working knowledge and understanding of relevant regulations and compliance standards and related markets
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation eg. KYC, Anti-money laundering etc
- A thorough knowledge of banks internal departments and procedures as well as risk and rigor requirements
- Proficiency in product development processes
- A sound knowledge of the bank’s internal departments, systems & procedures.
- Detailed understanding of competitor products and services
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data
