Watoto Childcare Ministries, a ministry of Watoto Church aims at raising the next generation of godly transformational leaders and empowering the vulnerable by providing holistic care to over 3000 babies and children,1,300 mothers and Neighborhood women in 3 villages in Suubi, Bbira and Laminadera ,2 babies homes in Suubi and Gulu town and 3 Neighborhood centers in Kampala, Gulu and Juba, South Sudan.

 

Job Summary:   We are seeking to recruit a Maintenance Officer (Electrician) to ensure Watoto facilities electrician equipment is well maintained to provide users with an excellent, secure, conducive, comfortable environment and value for money for the Watoto Church ministries.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate maintenance and repairs of all Watoto Electrician equipment.]
  • Conduct inspections of all Watoto electrician equipment & needs to identify needed services and repairs.
  • Maintain all Watoto generator houses as per required standards and prepare the parts list for workshop jobs utilizing SIS Parts System.
  • Manage and coordinate emergency and regular repairs to all generators.
  • Minimize rectification work by ensuring correct procedures are employed during assembly and maintenance work.
  • Employ diagnostic equipment to evaluate generator engine performance and condition recognized different procedures and service information.
  • Ensure company assets i.e., tools and equipment are maintained to an acceptable standard, ensuring all tools are available for inspection when requested.
  • Maintain the general administration of the maintenance program.
  • Assist with the preparation of Maintenance and Improvement Plans
  • Establish preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Supports in the preparation of plans for projects.
  • Assists in the management and supervision of projects.
  • Participates in the management of contracts.
  • Maintain and regularly update inventories of all projects.
  • Maintains and regularly updates records of the projects.
  • Supervise contractors and volunteers to ensure a positive and healthy work environment.
  • Promotes workplace health and safety based on established guidelines.
  • Assign tasks and ensure schedules are maintained.
  • Supervises contractors and ensures their performance is up to agreed terms.
  • Takes corrective action when required.





Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • A minimum of a High Diploma in Electrical engineering, Mechanical engineering, or any other relevant qualification.
  • Must have other skills in building and construction, plumbing, carpentry, welding and other related technical skills.
  • At least five years of practical working experience in a supervisory role.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft applications.
  • Must be willing to live up to organisational values.
  • Should possess the ability to write and present analytical and informative reports.
  • Should be a good communicator, must have a high level of integrity, confidentiality, trust, good work ethics and sound judgement.
