Job Summary:   We are looking for a LOANS RECOVERY OFFICER (f/m/d). The position will be based in MITYANA and will report directly to FSU Manager.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring and Coordinating recovery activities for both active and written-off loans in arrears at assigned stations.
  • Ensuring that all recovery efforts are documented and/or filed (participating and documenting recovery committees, etc.).
  • Negotiating the payment of an active and written-off debt, securing promises to pay within set guidelines and targets.
  • Maintenance of 100% compliance with all policies and regulatory requirements across all recovery efforts.
  • Carrying out periodical visits to active and written-off customer securities and advising management on the condition of the security.
  • Identifying and advising management on all delinquent accounts that require legal proceedings regularly.
  • Participating in periodic reviews of the recovery procedures and advising management on any new developments in the recovery process.
  • Ensuring that proper procedures are followed in the liquidation of customer collaterals.
  • Following up and ensuring that all recoveries from active and written-off loans are properly booked and reconciled regularly.
  • Managing and maintaining the monthly reporting requirements for the assigned loans.
  • Daily review of the region’s arrears position and advise the Supervisor on the progress of recovery of all loans above 30 days in arrears.
  • Monitor and Coordinate recovery activities for loans above 30 days
  • Negotiate with Debtors and ensure that the Debtors repay the bad debts at the lowest cost to the Business.
  • Prepare the authorization documents with appropriate documentation to the Management Credit Committee for approval or decision on the realization of the bad debts.
  • Any other duties as may be assigned by your immediate supervisor from time to time.





Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree: Preferably in Agriculture, Agronomy, Horticulture, Agricultural Economics, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in loan recovery practices.
  • Basic understanding of credit operations of a microfinance nature, rules and regulations, laws, granting loans, and credit risk management.
  • Good problem-solving, negotiation, interpersonal, and convincing skills.
  • Patience and understanding of emotions to deal with clients.
  • Excellent organizing, recording, and filing skills.
  • Strong dedication to accuracy and efficiency.
  • High level of personal integrity
  • Good communication, planning, and organization skills
  • High resilience, and reliability as well as the ability to multitask handle multiple projects, and manage deadlines.
  • Attention to detail: the relevant little things matter.
