Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Project Implementation and Management

  • Familiar with the concept of LIFT and its new approach to ensure project implementation aligns with the objectives of LIFT
  • Provide overall leadership in managing and coordinating the implementation of activities according to the implementation work-plan and budget
  • Prepare Detailed Implementation Plans (DIP) based on approved and funded proposal.
  • Guide and provide technical support to staff on Child Protection Child Wellbeing, Education / ECD and MPHSS standards and other project interventions.
  • Timely develop project procurement plans and ensure project procurements are conducted timely.
  • Routinely conduct monitoring of implementation of project activities ensuring high level of standards in implementation of activities.
  • Continue to reflect on the approach and adjust the project activities and implementation based on the learning with support from the Global Adviser, WV Korea and WV Uganda teams.
  • Ensure coordination of the Child Wellbeing staff and volunteers across age groups and support the implementation of inter-generational activities.
  • Monitor and manage projects’ budgets in line with grants agreements and standards.
  • Risk management by monitoring, addressing and reporting any risks to management of program funds and budgets.
  • Ensure assets of the project in the operations are safe and secure in line with projects’ grant regulations, MoUs and agreements.
  • Support audit processes in line with the projects’ audit regulations

Networking and collaboration

  • Promote the LIFT concept and approach internal and external to WV
  • Support to conduct orientations or sharing with key stakeholders such as the interagency groups, clusters, local government coordination groups, etc.
  • Ensure WV is adequately represented in Sector coordination meetings at settlement and zonal level.
  • Identify and build strategic linkages, relations, collaborations and networks with partners, resource persons and other stakeholders in planning and implementation of project activities for the different age groups and across sectors.
  • Develop a database of strategic networks and partnerships for advocacy within the project area.
  • Facilitate the integration of advocacy for children in line with project intervention areas
  • Build strong relationship with OPM, local leaders, RWCs within the project area.

Staff performance management and supervision

  • Support to build a team culture of innovation, learning, new mindset and going outside of the box
  • Manage, supervise and build capacity of staff and volunteers in project implementation and delivery of LIFT for child wellbeing outcomes.
  • Share any gaps in capacity and knowledge of the Child Wellbeing staff and volunteers with the Global Adviser and the National Advisers of WV Uganda
  • Identify staff capacity, psychosocial and other needs, and work with P&C to ensure needs are met to promote staff welfare and wellbeing.
  • Provide guidance to Project staff in LIFT implementation, planning and preparation of M&E documents.
  • Set SMART performance targets and conduct quarterly conversations with the Project staffs
  • Develop and implement coaching and mentorship plans with Project staffs including building their capacity on LIFT approach
  • Ensure 100% participation of staff in devotions and spiritual nature related events/activities
  • Spear head monthly project review meetings with Project staff.
  • Ensure team work among project team to ensure quality and timely implementation
  • Provide technical guidance and support supervision to project staffs
  • Staff develop leave plans and take leave days in the systems
  • Ensure staff comply with WVI online mandatory trainings like security, data management PSEA, etc.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation, accountability, documentation and reporting
  • Work with the MEAL team to design and implement Action Learning activities as part of the evidence generations for the LIFT pilot
  • Ensure the consultation and participation of children, adolescents and caregivers in all project interventions.
  • Support the Child Wellbeing staff and volunteers to conduct consultation with children, adolescents and caregivers to set up a gender and child friendly accountability mechanism in each project site
  • Support the MEAL Officer to ensure the functionality and usage of all project feedback mechanisms and participate in the collection of feedback from the community and other stakeholders
  • Facilitate effective monitoring, documentation and reporting in compliance with grants’ agreements, LIFT framework, minimum standards and tools
  • Establishment of functional project level M&E system that is tailor to the design of LIFT and the utilization of the information in liaison with MEAL team.
  • Work with MEAL staff to develop a registration system that can support analysis of participants’ profiles (making sure the right targeting approach)
  • Manage project information and documentation processes, and ensure effective communication of the project results.
  • Prepare quality reports and submit (progress against delivery of outputs and achievement of outcomes, etc) to Support Offices, and UN partner agencies as per the grant agreements and regulations.
  • Support to develop marketing and comms products for the LIFT fundraising efforts
  • Share lessons learned and reflection from the LIFT pilot with WV stakeholders
  • Any other business as assigned by supervisor including participation in key committees and task forces and ensuring that the partner works
