Job Summary: The I.T Technician will install and maintain computer systems and networks aiming for the highest functionality. He/she will also “train” users of the systems to make appropriate and safe usage of the IT infrastructure. The goal is to build and maintain updated and efficient computer systems and networks to optimize the role of technology in business sustainability. A successful IT Technician must have a thorough knowledge of computer software and hardware and a variety of internet applications, networks, and operating systems. The ideal candidate will also have great troubleshooting abilities and attention to detail.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop/review ICT policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Company website maintenance.
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot workstations, laptops, printers, and photocopiers.
- Install, configure, and maintain appropriate software and functions according to company requirements.
- Administer servers, desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, phones.
- Maintain a detailed IT equipment inventory as well as monitor performance.
- Plan and schedule for regular upgrades and preventive maintenance of IT equipment and software.
- Maintain local and server-based anti-virus system software.
- Maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes and schedule maintenance.
- Manage back-up for critical data and systems, including managing the disaster recovery plan.
- Develop and maintain local networks in ways that optimize performance.
- Ensure network connectivity through the company’s LAN/WAN infrastructure.
- Basic CCTV NVR Configuration.
- Request and set up new user accounts and email accounts in collaboration with the service provider.
- Set up security policies for users and privacy of networks and computer systems.
- Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment.
- Identify and resolve network equipment shortages and place orders.
- Set up and support audio/visual equipment for meetings and trainings.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- At least 4 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the manufacturing industry.
- Proficiency in network administration, database management, cybersecurity, and ERP systems.
- Relevant IT certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CCNA, CISSP, or similar.
- Strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach to IT management.
